The camp has now been officially up and running for a few days and I am glad to say that I have set off to a solid start even with feeling a little less than on top form. In the end the choices came down to two – No 3 & 5 if anyone read the earlier excepts –Choices And whilst I was all set up for 3 I got swayed into trying for the comedy style one if only to see if I could write in that way. Though if I am honest I probably will end up adding a little bit to each story during the month, but that’s the beauty of the camp eh It’s all about the act of writing not the actual linear progression of the story, I think that is why I enjoy participating. It gives me a goal without locking me into one thing or another. So far so good .. *stacking up the sweets for the weekend needed sugar rush*
Well I have taken a couple of days off the blog update but instead piled those words into my story which means that I am now just jutting slightly ahead of where I should be and gives me some breather space. and I am glad to have noticed that arrow has zoomed up and is now prodding 75%
It’s all going so fast! I am happy with things though as it feels productive and I feel a little more relaxed on a day to day basis. Hooray for CampNaNoWriMo!
It was also quite amusing to help create 112 messages for people to log into (not all mine) but in the cabin we were helping each other over some road blocks and believe it or not, this –
Was key to making sense of someone’s plot. I love that buttons and coins can become peoples characters in discussion, it reminded me of that great scene in Bottom where they are replacing chess pieces with random objects.
Ah but today they actually do!
My writing stats for today are as follows
CampNaNoWriMo story – Words -493
CampNaNoWriMo virtual write in – Words – 354 + 351 + 215 = 920
Email x 2 = 1091
Total words today= 2504 *cheers*
OK so I’m not going to put them into my count however it’s nice just to know that they are there. They are mine, and I can use the prompts to springboard from. I even think i have added a twist into my story from them so thanks Lauren & Chris!
The prompts –
Trading spaces – Are your characters trying to change their environment or are they being changed by them. Do the opposite
Absolute chaos – Just introduce chaos into your scene and lots of it! – in the last 30 secs we were told to introduce something even more chaotic – the twist!
Present, real, or imaginary — Describe a place that your MC finds meaningful. – somewhere your character finds meaning/comfort – where and why?
Right that’s my lot for tonight *hangs up typing hands*
So today has a been a weird day of being propped up with caffeine, sugar and a sprinkling of proplus. I know it’s bad for me but some days you just have to get through a day and not fall to sleep on your keyboard…well at least not the one at work.
My novel graph is looking fairly healthy even though I am still a bit short on some words however I feel good that at least I have stopped at a place it can be wrapped up and then it easier to start again the next day
I also had all my buddy swap set to be posted but apparently they moved the post office. I found this out after a walk with a large box with was very annoying especially since the new post office is no longer along the bus route and I don’t drive *shakes fist *
Not sure whether the other post office will be the same people but either way it will now be easier to use another place entirely so that’s wonderful progress for post office services /sigh.
Anyhow time to try to get a couple of hours sleep *sets up comforting music*
