So I have never really been one of those people that begins the New Year spouting about how it’s going to be a ‘new year new me’. Mostly because I know I am terrible at keeping resolutions anyhow, so why would I purposely be putting myself under extra stress trying not to fail at some ridiculous notion of exercising and dieting….it’s just not gonna happen.

But perhaps this year I can at least attempt something, something tiny, something minuscule but ultimately something New for me. So instead of proclaiming a ‘new me’ for 2019 I am going to be renaming and celebrating JaNEWary!

So what is all this nonsense you ask? Why are you just spelling January incorrectly?

Well instead of committing to a whole year of being able to pull off some kind of resolution then instead I am taking the laz…easier route of using January as a month to try out something new. It might be something small, like a new book genre or film that I wouldn’t usually watch. Perhaps I could try cooking something new or tasting a new food. Anything new will count; perhaps I might even find a new hobby.

Whatever it is I’m going to be doing it in the next few weeks and that will make up my JaNEWary. I’m not even going to forecast how many new things to find to do, I will just pin them up on Twitter when I find them. Hopefully just the notion of finding new things will invigorate me to do more than I have so far this year.

If you have any ideas for me then let me know, or maybe you want to join in? If so please let me know how you will be celebrating your JaNEWary, perhaps we can all find a little bit of inspiration from each other.

November is Coming!

Yes, I know, I know, it’s still October and I’m already days behind on my Inktober offerings but I am going to catch up … honest.

But I haven’t been at home over the weekend, and while I couldn’t be drawing then my thoughts turned to fear because November is almost here. And I wanted to have some kind of vague plan for NaNoWriMo this time, in hopes this will help me actually cross the finishing line.

So today, I’ve been trying to work out some ideas and going through some old writing prompts to see if there was an idea that I wanted to expand upon. At the moment my thoughts are not even in one particular genre (well, isn’t that a surprise), however I will have whittled down my favourites by the end of the week and hopefully you guys can help steer me towards one again.

At least I have a plan for my spare time this week:

1- Catch up with Mythical Innktober: Dragon, Treant, Water spirit, Wyvern.

2 – Organise NaNoWriMo ideas & post for opinions.

3- Announce Novel.

4 – Actually check facebook and catch up with some of the other Nanoers.

5 – Check out Overwatch Halloween event and probably annoy other people with my bad FPS skills.

CampNaNoWriMo- April 2016

I wasn’t sure if I would be taking up the CampNaNoWriMo challenge this time around as I already have some commitments, however I figured that I could combine the two. So I have signed myself up for April in the hope that it might encourage me to write the back story for a some characters that I need to develop. We were giving our mystery cabin assignments today so I popped in earlier to see if anyone was about early, but it was quiet so I left a hello post-it note on the fridge.

Now I’m just sitting here awaiting the inspiration or inclination to start writing, but you know when you have to get something done that it always seems harder to do.

 

Procrastination day!

So today for me was a day of delaying – so many things to do, so little umph available to get them done.

I had planned to do..well lots of stuff however what I did was pretty much nothing.

Then at 7pm a conflict struck my dabbling.

Warcraft Q&A was due on twitch with the lovely @holinka & @CM_Lore

 

but

CampNaNoWriMo was also putting up word sprints on YouTube and I did still need to get motivated to write

So who did I choose?

Well I kind of chose both..

The girls over at Nano were the first to start streaming so I joined in with the warm up sprint. By which time The guys had started rolling out the Warcraft info so for the next Nano sprint I only got 91 words due to being distracted by Holinka’s words regarding differing types of players and nodding in agreement that for some (myself included) gearing is part of my characters individual progression but for others they want to be geared before the game for them starts – Ok so I might have muddled the words but the sentiment is there.

Then a swap back over to the mystery activity for the Nanogirls & a great ad lib sonnet including the epic coining of the phrase “Eternal rubber ducky” *giggles* Then a join in with the prompt ‘ Write a passage ignoring setting, don’t mention anything about the setting and see how far you get’ Which is actually a lot harder than you imagine and I think I will pick this back up again to try out another time.

Another jump back to the boys talking about racial traits and the desire to make each racial interesting and compelling not just equal. Personally I just choose a race to match what I would consider their character to be like however I know most will just choose what they consider to be the best for their play style, or at least what somebody else on the internet has claimed to be the ‘best’ option.

Then back over to the Nano for prompt 3  which I admit to just saving for tomorrow to play around with. I also was around for the discount code for the Nanoshop too so I might well go purchase that mug I have my eye on though I will need to check the shipping I guess after being stung by my last Blizzard order and the extra Fed-ex charges *shakes fist*

Also during this twitter was a popping with the news of the new Star Wars trailer so that’s something to look forward too at the end of the year 🙂

As you can tell..today was a jack of all trades master of none day so maybe I shall just work on actually doing stuff tomorrow *winks*

P.S I forgot to say hooray for getting a mention on from the Nanogirls too, I have now had one line of my work spoken out loud and online whoot 😀
